If you’re only getting one pair, let it be this one.
Groove is our go-to sandal. The one we wear most days, in most places. It’s simple, easy on the eyes, and comfortable enough to forget about - in a good way.
The sole has three layers: a flexible rubber base for grip, a soft EVA midsole for some cushion, and a vegan leather footbed that stays dry and doesn’t get smelly, even after long walks in hot weather. It’s around 10mm thick, which means you still feel the ground, but not every pebble.
A good place to start
If you’re new to barefoot-style sandals, Groove is a great place to begin. It gives your feet room to move and muscles space to work, but it doesn’t throw you in the deep end.
Some people jump straight into ultra-thin soles. But we’ve found that having a little cushioning helps with the transition - especially on hard surfaces like pavement. Groove strikes that balance.
City-proof and trail-friendly
Most of us live between worlds - walking city streets during the week, then heading outdoors when we can. Groove does both well.
It’s flexible and grippy enough for trails, soft enough for long city days, and doesn’t look out of place anywhere. If you’re walking a lot, you’ll probably notice that your feet feel more relaxed and less tired over time. They’re doing what they were made to do.
For running, too
We know a few runners who wear Groove for trails and pavement alike. It’s not a racing shoe, but it holds up surprisingly well on long runs - especially for those who’ve built up their foot strength.
The slightly thicker sole makes a difference when you’re running on asphalt or rocky paths. It doesn’t numb your feet, but it softens the impact just enough.
Keeps things fresh
The vegan leather footbed does a good job of staying dry, even when it’s hot. It doesn’t trap sweat like synthetic foams sometimes do. And both the footbed and midsole include antibacterial components, so they don’t pick up that smell some sandals get over time.
One thing to note
Groove handles sweat and humidity really well. But if it gets fully soaked - like walking through a river or heavy rain - the footbed can feel a little slippery at first. Tightening the straps helps, but if you’re planning to be in the water often, our Flow model might suit you better.
In short
Groove isn’t flashy. It just works.
If you want one sandal that can do most things, this is probably it.
